Roderick Bridges

Mr. Bridges is an accomplished legal professional with over 20 years of legal experience including 13 years as a DeKalb County judge. He possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in criminal, personal injury, and family law, Mr. Bridges has successfully handled complex civil and criminal litigation in state and federal court from inception to trial.

Mr. Bridges is a member of the Interfaith Children Movement, where he leads their human trafficking initiative. Directing the human trafficking initiative, he seeks to eradicate human trafficking through education, legislation, and prevention. In addition to his knowledge, legal training and practice, Mr. Bridges has a certificate of training in human trafficking from the Center of Civil Human Rights, International Human Trafficking Institute.

Mr. Bridges also serves in Lions Club International, 100 Black Men of DeKalb and DeKalb NAACP, where he engages in many service projects such as building a monument for the fallen police officers at Dresden Park in Chamblee, providing vision screening to children and contributing to the beautification of neighborhoods. Mr. Bridges mentor youth visit schools engaging the students by implementing fundamental reading skills. Mr. Bridges is also a member of the DeKalb Pastors Alliance, where he works diligently to bridge the gap between the community and the church.

Roderick was born in Los Angeles, California, but was raised on the coast of Mississippi. Roderick graduated from the Xavier University of New Orleans with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. Roderick obtained a Master of Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Roderick then attended St. Louis School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Bridges has resided in DeKalb County for over 20 years with his two children Brittany and Christopher Bridges. Brittany is a graduate of the Loyola University of New Orleans and currently proudly serves as a member of the United States Navy. Christopher is a high schooler and an active member of the Leadership Academy of the 100 Black Men of DeKalb County and a talented vocalist. Mr. Bridges is also actively involved in his church, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
